Re: Urgent Upgrade to Training Ground demanded by Pellegrini
Our traiuning facilities are comparable to the teams around us to be fair (ie prehistoric) but I am pretty sure someone like Anderson would turn up and think "they just spent £40m on me and we train at this shithole"?

Our training facilities are nowhere near the ambition we are supposed to be showing.

Re: Urgent Upgrade to Training Ground demanded by Pellegrini
Didn’t David Gold say that they haven’t spent money on the training facilities because they have a choice, spend 15milliom on that or on a new player and the fans would moan if they chose the training facilities over the player.

Or something to that effect.

I don’t know any fan with half a brain who’d prefer the money to be spent on 1 player rather than suitable facilities. For a premier league club to be training where we do is a dereliction of duty on behalf of the owners. I don’t think working in that environment during the week is very motivating. Well done Pellegrini for calling them out on it.

Re: Urgent Upgrade to Training Ground demanded by Pellegrini
No, the club have spent £3m on upgrading the facilities at Chadwell Heath for the academy squads. Chadwell Heath is actually bigger than Rush Green but the pitch quality wasn't as good.

Re: Urgent Upgrade to Training Ground demanded by Pellegrini
Wasn't the move from Chadwell Heath to Rush Green sold as "an update" to out training facilities?

Or was it just pre-empting the moment that the land on which the Chadwell Heath training facility stands is released from the Green Belt and made available for housing...

So many replies, and not one mention of DINOSAUR TRAINING METHODS.

Site, white dog shit, MOBOs etc.

I was there this afternoon. Work is complete. They've filled in nine potholes on the training pitch, painted the toilet doors lime green and got a new padlock for the gate.

I have to applaud the board.

They've basically employed someone who is telling them: "you useless cunts."

Russian hats off.

That portacabin looks like the old 80's club shop from Upton park - tight bastards are getting their money's worth out of it

"Not sure if any of you watched the Juventus documentary series on Netflix. They have all their teams, from little kids up in the same general complex."

I wasn't aware that this was't the case. I thought the benefits from having ALL players and squads in one building was evident in the 1990s.

Looks like the much touted previous upgrade was August 2016.

Shouldn't need doing again surely

That's interesting point.

Not sure if any of you watched the Juventus documentary series on Netflix. They have all their teams, from little kids up in the same general complex.

So the senior team could visit and inspire their younger players on a semi regular basis.

Quite apart from our second rate training ground, am I right in assuming the two days of the Athletics World Cup just finished means another 8 million quid has been wasted removing the seats around the track, then replacing them in time for the footy season?
Thanks Lord Coe and co. you fucking numpties.

Good news. A bit of an upgrade. More space for younger / ladies teams. Under-soil heating. eating.

All good moves.

Daily Mail..right

So Pellegrini never saw them or aware of them before he signed? Sure.

Just an opportunity for supporters of the north and west London scum clubs to have a dig in the comments. Hope we stick it up 'em this season.

Wasn't Rush Green painted by the team we let play there who were then kicked out? Think it was Grays.

It was £1m wasn't it? Which basically amounted to painting it.

Re: Urgent Upgrade to Training Ground demanded by Pellegrini
Brilliant

Finally, a manager who has the balls to stand up to their 2 bob shenanigans.

Both Chadwell heath and Rush green are pathetic for a supposedly top rated Premier League outfit, we as a club should be embarrassed of our facilities.

They spent £3 million on it a couple of years ago and shouted from the rooftops about it, they literally had no idea what they were doing, glad the new bloke has the nous to tell them
